Description
Khovd branch of the National University of Mongolia, first established in 1979, under the name of Hovd Teacher's Sub-School, began training professional teachers in the western region of Mongolia and has been engaged in teaching and research activities for 45 years.
Between 2004 and 2021, Khovd University expanded into a social, humanities, and natural sciences teacher, as well as training specialists in the professions of lawyers, economists, engineers, foreign language translators, and the wide range of science of nature, geography, history, and ethnology in the western region of Mongolia and bordering regions. started research. Since 2021, the branch school of the National University of Mongolia in Hovd province has been organized. The school cooperates with nearly 20 foreign universities and research institutions. For example: since 2014, a joint student exchange program has been successfully implemented with the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies in Japan. Every year, two students study Western Mongolian history, ethnology, and dialects at the school.
Khovd University is developing as the main ethnographic research center of Western Mongolia.
